I recently sailed the Tennessee Rivers cruise from Nashville to Chattanooga on the brand new American Serenade, the latest American Riverboat from American Cruise Lines.
We arrived a day early to take advantage of the Complimentary Pre-Cruise Hotel Stay in Nashville. Not only were we able to explore the city at our leisure, but we were even treated to a show at the iconic Grand Ole Opry with fellow guests. What a great way to start the journey.
During the cruise, we also visited the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, explored the recording studios of Muscle Shoals, and learned the Civil War history of the nation's most well-preserved battlefield, Shiloh National Military Park. But, some of my favorite moments were simply cruising along the Cumberland River through the Tennessee River Gorge and admiring the incredible scenery.
The ship new 180-passenger American Serenade was both elegant and comfortable with panoramic views throughout, including an impressive four-story glass atrium in the center of the ship. Our stateroom was very spacious with a full-size bathroom, roomy closet, and a private balcony where we often had breakfast. The new ship also features an onboard fitness center and many spacious lounges where we could relax in the company of fellow travelers.
