- 55 Days
- 18 States
- 4 Ships
From Alaska’s glaciers to New England’s fiery fall foliage, this grand voyage unfolds like a moving portrait of America’s landscapes, history, and culture. Over 55 extraordinary days, sail aboard four distinct ships, traveling from the untamed beauty of the Last Frontier to the heart of the nation’s Revolutionary past, culminating in a powerful conclusion in Washington, D.C. This is autumn in America, as few ever experience it.
Your adventure begins in Juneau, the capital of Alaska, where towering glaciers, soring peaks, and the bright blue waters of the Inside Passage set the stage as you cruise through Alaska’s breathtaking coastal wilderness. Witness humpback whales, brown bears, and bald eagles as the crisp northern air signals the changing season.
Next, take in the endless skylines of the Pacific Northwest as you follow the path of Lewis and Clark’s legendary expedition. Stand among the towering pines and revel in misty mornings as the shore’s wildlife awakens.
Heading east, you’ll sail through the heartland of America on the Upper Mississippi River, where rolling bluffs, charming river towns, and golden farmland frame your journey through Mark Twain’s Mississippi.
As September turns to October, your voyage reaches its most brilliant display—New England in peak fall foliage. Visit historic ports and vibrant autumn forests, where maples blaze in crimson, amber, and gold. Along the coast, spot migrating whales breaching the waves while inland, eagles soar above the colorful canopy. Cap it all off with a quintessential New England treat—fresh, buttery lobster enjoyed against the backdrop of crisp autumn air.
Finally, your journey concludes in Washington, D.C., where the monuments, museums, and historic landmarks of the nation’s capital provide a fitting finale to this sweeping exploration of America’s history and beauty.

Day 6
Cruising the Alaska Inside Passage
Day 6 – Cruising the Alaska Inside Passage
This day of sailing unveils the unimaginable wonders of the river as our small ship weaves through the slender waterways of Tracy Arm Fjord. Along the 25-mile stretch, the fjord remains intimately narrow, scarcely a mile across, with sheer vertical cliffs soaring over 3,000 feet into the sky. These cliffs frame a dramatic vista, where valleys cut through to reveal majestic, snow-draped peaks that go on and on, disappearing into the blue sky. The mountainsides are a patchwork of ancient forests and gleaming glaciers.
Countless waterfalls spill down these cliffs in spectacular cascades, merging with the fjord’s crystalline waters below. The journey reaches a crescendo as the ship approaches the awe-inspiring twin Sawyer Glaciers. These icy giants, architects of this remarkable fjord, present a frozen frenzy where seals and their young find sanctuary on drifting ice floes.
Amidst all this, the crew readies a delightful hot-chocolate bar, complete with an assortment of toppings and liqueurs, adding warmth to the chilly cruising day. This pristine wilderness, largely unaltered since naturalist John Muir’s visit in 1879, echoes his words, presenting a landscape "shut in by sublime cliffs, nobly sculptured, and adorned with waterfalls and fringes of trees, bushes, and patches of flowers." Such is the enchanting beauty of Tracy Arm Fjord—a place where nature’s artistry is displayed in its most raw and captivating form.
